How can intelligent people (ie <em>you</em>) let this pass?</p> <p>For those displaced by Katrina, <a href="http://www.nola.com/news/t-p/frontpage/index.ssf?/base/news-4/1137827192222050.xml">the US Gov’t is paying</a> <a href="http://bellaciao.org/en/article.php3?id_article=10128">$60,000 per trailer</a>, <em>for an 18 month lease</em>! So that $60,000 goes to the trailer company, not a dime to the people that lost everything. That’s $3,300 per month, which could get each family a nice condo, plus food, clothing and other essentials. But no, our government won’t allow that!</p> <p>More Americans screwed while the pigs gorge at the trough.</p><p><a href="http://benfrank.net/patriots/files/images/no-water_line.jpg"><img class="r" src="http://benfrank.net/patriots/files/images/no-water_line.thumbnail.jpg"></a>What makes this doubly outrageous, is that there are plenty of Public Housing Projects that <a href="http://fluxrostrum.blogspot.com/2006/01/housing-rights-for-new-orleans.html">received little to no damage (* VIDEO *)</a>- the water line was at the 2nd step, yet the city has closed them down. They shut the poor out of their homes, they <a href="http://neworleans.indymedia.org/news/2006/02/6977.php">kick them out of hotels</a>, and they <a href="http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=06/02/16/1525222">refuse to give them trailers</a>. What the hell are these Americans supposed to do? They lost everything, and our gov't responds by giving Bush cronies some fat paychecks, doing nothing for the citizens of New Orleans.</p><p>The street lights are on, but the city won’t turn on the power to the projects.
