Nov 3rd to dozens of stories about voting "irregularities" and tens of thousands of disenfranchised voters in Ohio and a dozen other states.... If America had heard those stories Nov 3rd, Bush would not be President today.</p> <p>-----------------</p> <p><strong ><big >Common Sense Proof</big></strong><br /> that our Congress Failed to ensure Honest Elections<br /> <span class="red"><strong >no statistics required- just logic</strong></span></p> <p>In 2004- thousands of citizens were turned away in Ohio because there were not enough machines, ie 3 voting machines for 1500 voters, when it was supposed to be 1/100 or 15 machines!</p> <p>The shortage of machines led to very long lines. Thousands were turned away, if our gov't truly wished for the will of the people to be known, they would have demanded a re-vote with paper and pencil. With that old-fashioned system, 100 voters could walk in and vote simultaneously, there is no need to have 100s wait for three machines. It's illogical- period.</p> <p>-----------------</p> <p><b ><big >Transparency</big></b><br /> <br >This is an issue that <em >must</em> be discussed. Whether voting by paper and pencil or computer technology, there must be a clear, auditable trail.</p> <p>I will introduce a bill creating a national standard for transparency and auditing of elections.</p> <p>Why have different systems in every county and every state, <i >owned by private corporations</i>.
