Thanks to everyone that voted for me, and everyone that continues to take the truth to their friends and neighbors, as we know:
Denial is unacceptable, Apathy is unconscionable.

I'd just like all Democrats to think about this....

Out of 300,000 votes, 86% want impeachment.
Congress Crtters in favor of impeachment: 1%.

Anyone else see a problem here?

Ted Stevens Bill Kills Free Speech on the Internet

When the Senate returns in September they'll be voting on a bill to end Free Speech on the internet.

Stevens says his internet plan has a "Consumer Bill of Rights", that it's good for average Americans. In fact, the real purpose of the bill is to remove Americans' last avenue of free speech. from the BBC:

[The telecoms] would like to implement a two-tier system, where data from companies or institutions that can pay are given priority over those that cannot.

By creating this "pay-to-play" internet, the corporations will be able to charge whatever they want for net access, and it won't be long before only corporate sites are "in the fast lane". Just like tv and radio, the internet will be controlled by big $$.

Indicted Lobbyist Exposes Corruption in Congress

Brent Wilkes, indicted lobbyist connected with the Duke Cunningham bribery scandal, talks about the corrupt system used in Congress. Cunningham is not the only one- it's the entire system in place. NY Times:

Mr. Wilkes had set up separate meetings with the lawmakers hoping to win a government contract, and he planned to punctuate each pitch with a campaign donation. But his hometown congressman, Representative Bill Lowery of San Diego, a Republican, told him that presenting the checks during the sessions was not how things were done, Mr. Wilkes recalled.

Instead, Mr. Wilkes said, Mr. Lowery taught him the right way to do it: hand over the envelope in the hallway outside the suite, at least a few feet away.

That was the beginning of a career built on what Mr. Wilkes calls “transactional lobbying,” which made him a rich man but also landed him in the middle of a criminal investigation.

it gets worse...

Corruption Gone Wild at DHS

This is your Department of Homeland Security:

    * The Border Patrol paid $20 million for camera systems that failed to work or were never installed.
* A $10-billion border security program meant to track visitors' U.S. entries and departures failed to monitor the departures and was vulnerable to unauthorized access.
* The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) spent more than $68,000 on 2,000 sets of dog booties for canine units. The booties couldn’t be used and remain in storage.
* Customs and Border Protection ordered 37 $2,500 rain jackets for agents to wear while training at an agency firing range, which, it turned out, is closed when it rains.
* The Secret Service purchased 12 iPod Nanos and 42 iPod Shuffles for "training and data storage."
* FEMA can't account for 12 of 20 boats its employees purchased for $208,000 per vessel.

In a measure of how much money has poured out of the department, the report noted that agency spending rocketed from $3.5 billion in 2003, to $10 billion two years later. Over the same period, the percentage of contracts the agency awarded without full and open competition increased from 19 percent to 55 percent, the report said.

$2,500 rain jackets...? Is there such a thing? Who authorized that? Literally, who did authorize that- that's the question I'd be asking if I were your Representative.

Fed Reserve Banker: US could be going bankrupt

The United States is heading for bankruptcy, according to an extraordinary paper published by one of the key members of the country's central bank.

A ballooning budget deficit and a pensions and welfare timebomb could send the economic superpower into insolvency, according to research by Professor Laurence Kotlikoff for the Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis, a leading constituent of the US Federal Reserve.

This "Conservative" Congress has run up the deficit trillions of dollars in just a few short years.

A Day in the Life of Congress

True, I picked June 6th, 2006 because it was particularly funny (sad)- here are some of the day's highlights from the floor of The House:

H. Res. 327: supporting the goals and ideals of National Passport Month

H. Res. 626: congratulating Albert Pujols on being named the MP for the National League for the 2005 season

H. Con. Res. 399: recognizing the 30th Anniversary of the victory of United States winemakers at the 1976 Paris Wine Tasting

There are real problems that need real solutions ASAP, yet our Congress wastes most of their time on BS similar to the above. Then when the important stuff comes up- they don't even read the bills!

And on top of that- they show up to work even less than Truman's 1948 "Do Nothing" Congress.

Lawmakers get out of the House

WASHINGTON — The House of Representatives is on track this year to be in session for fewer days than the Congress Harry Truman labeled as “do-nothing” during his 1948 re-election campaign....

Congressional salary = $165,200 per year.
$165,200 / 97 days = $1,703 per day!
When will congress have a rational discussion about 9/11?

As more and more questions have surfaced about the real events of September 11, most of our congressional representatives react with attacks 'how dare you ask questions'. This audio conversation illustrates how to ask questions in a respectful way, and allow honest answers. After this enlightening discussion, even the skeptic agrees there is enough information to reopen the 9/11 investigation. With Tom Delay gone, perhaps it is time to return to common sense in the House of Representatives and push for a new inquiry on 9/11. This is a partial transcript of 'new investigation'...

Q "If it were brought down by bombs, isn't there chemical traces etc. things like that...

"They hauled everything away right away, that was another problem"

"That's right, even the fire chiefs in their magazine were saying 'this was completely wrong, there had to be a forensic examination that would have revealed the use of these explosives. The company that did all this was a very efficient company by the name of Controlled Demolition Incorporated."

Wake Up America: Congress Just Took Away Free Speech

Every member of Congress swears an oath to uphold and defend The Constitution. They have violated that oath.

The First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law.. abridging the freedom of speech..

Congress just passed such a law: Section 602 of the new “Patriot” Act:

SEC. 602. INTERFERENCE WITH NATIONAL SPECIAL SECURITY EVENTS.
[It is against the law to] willfully and knowingly to enter or remain in any posted, cordoned off, or otherwise restricted area of a building… with intent to impede or disrupt...

Violation of this section, and attempts or conspiracies to commit such violations, shall be punishable by 10 years, if injury results or weapon used (even a camera or cardboard sign), otherwise one year.

John Conyers: Plant or Vegetable?

In the 60s and 70s COINTELPRO had to fight anti-war leaders like Lennon and Abbie Hoffman- this time around they planted the leaders and most Americans follow like sheep. They even have plants in Congress, like John Conyers. Think about it, Conyers investigations always lead to a dead end. He is the master stalling agent for BushCo.

* Election Fraud 2004- Conyers released the 100 page report Jan 5, the day before the big vote. What he couldn't release a summary a little sooner than that? Did you watch the Jan 6th Challenge- Conyers's big moment to speak, he was really weak- then he passed his time to fellow Critter Sanders whose first statement was, "I believe Bush won the election." If Conyers had damning evidence of fraud, then why did he pass his time to someone with the opposite viewpoint? It makes no sense.

Rumsfeld Sept 10, 2001: The Pentagon cannot account for $2.3 TRILLION

"According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld admitted.

$2.3 trillion — that's $8,000 for every man, woman and child in America. To understand how the Pentagon can lose track of trillions, consider the case of one military accountant who tried to find out what happened to a mere $300 million.

"We know it's gone. But we don't know what they spent it on," said Jim Minnery, Defense Finance and Accounting Service.

Minnery, a former Marine turned whistle-blower, is risking his job by speaking out for the first time about the millions he noticed were missing from one defense agency's balance sheets. Minnery tried to follow the money trail, even crisscrossing the country looking for records.

"The director looked at me and said 'Why do you care about this stuff?' It took me aback, you know? My supervisor asking me why I care about doing a good job," said Minnery.

50,000 Troops FORCED to Serve

(Reuters) The US Army has forced about 50,000 soldiers to continue serving after their voluntary stints ended under a policy called 'stop-loss,' but while some dispute its fairness, court challenges have fallen flat.

The policy applies to soldiers in units due to deploy for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The Army said stop-loss is vital to maintain units that are cohesive and ready to fight. But some experts said it shows how badly the Army is stretched and could further complicate efforts to attract new recruits.

'As the war in Iraq drags on, the Army is accumulating a collection of problems that cumulatively could call into question the viability of an all-volunteer force,' said defence analyst Loren Thompson of the Lexington Institute think tank.

'When a service has to repeatedly resort to compelling the retention of people who want to leave, you're edging away from the whole notion of volunteerism.'

What's wrong with Congress

This is just an excerpt from a great article by Don Santina at Counterpunch

They wear their power of office like the ermine of ancient kings and queens. They have the best free medical care in the world; they live grandly in estates, villas and gated communities. They travel and vacation on the taxpayers’ tab. Senators (AKA the Millionaires’ Club) and House members enjoy automatic salary raises while Americans who work for a living see their wages and benefits slashed annually. How about these “millions?" Millions of Americans don’t have health care. Millions of children go to bed hungry and attend substandard schools. Millions of American parents work their butts off for less than a living wage. Millions more will never have an opportunity for a meaningful job in their lifetimes.

There are approximately 6, 000 homeless people in San Francisco and 1,500 are children. Feinstein and her mega millionaire husband Richard Blum, just bought a 9,500 square foot house in Pacific Heights for $16.5 million. Why? Because, said the Senator, “we never had a view and this was an opportunity to get one."

The United States has the largest prison population in the world. Hey America, aren’t you embarrassed by that statistic? Most of the people in prison are poor non-violent and nonwhite drug offenders--not politically connected like the alcoholics stumbling around Congress who “don’t do drugs." How many prisoners on Death Row were released on account of new DNA evidence? For how many was the evidence too late? Statistics tell us that there is no crime wave, but the Royal Democrats and their Republican pals continue to build prisons in their new “Lockdown America."
.
.
Exxon made five million dollars an hour in the fourth quarter of 2005. The silence in Congress is deafening. Meanwhile, rank and file Democrats protest, email, blog and groan “What’s wrong with the Democratic Party?” They don’t want to accept the fact that what’s wrong with the “Democratic Party,” i.e., the Royal Democrats, is that They’re On The Other Side!

Exactly! Hey Don- I hereby nominate you to run for your local House Seat in this fall's election.

Congress doesn't even read the Bills

When the House debated the Medicare prescription drug bill,
perhaps the most important legislation it considered in the 108th Congress,
Members brought 59 amendments to the Rules Committee....
[They] allowed only one Democratic [Amendment] the Republican leadership
was confident it could defeat.

In other words, on this bill, a bill that changed the fundamental
structure of the federal government's largest health care program, the majority did everything
it could to prevent the House from taking "clear positions" on "clear issues" related to
Medicare reform.

We were very disappointed, but not surprised, to learn later that the bill would give the pharmaceutical companies billions of taxpayer dollars at
the expense of America's seniors, and that Rep. Billy Tauzin, one
of the authors of the Medicare bill, had negotiated a $2 million a year job for himself
heading the drug industry lobby during the period the conference was producing its
report.

Halliburton overcharged taxpayers by $1 Billion

"I can unequivocally state that the abuse related to contracts awarded to KBR (Kellogg Brown and Root) represents the most blatant and improper contract abuse I have witnessed during the course of my professional career," said Greenhouse, a procurement veteran of more than 20 years.

Surely we caught the crooks that fixed the books bilking US taxpayers from a Billion dollar, (actually it's $1.5 Bil now)... no, we didn't catch the crooks, we gave them a $60 million bonus!
