Bush continues to claim that the spying is to protect us, yet look at all of these stories where the targets are Grannies, Quakers, peace groups, anti-war protests, Catholic Workers, etc.... Are these groups a threat to "national security"? Are they planning an attack on fellow citizens- or are they a threat to the war machine?

The military-industrial complex, the war machine, now has the freedom to spy on all Americans- paid for by our very own tax dollars.
Is this to stop terrorists, or to identify dissenters that may impede the war machine?
But surely there’s no room for abuse, they can’t just spy on anybody… well, actually, the decision on who to spy on was left up to a shift supervisor [8].
Recall that at first the White House has said it is limited to international calls [9] between U.S. residents and individuals overseas suspected of having ties to al-Qaida.
The secret room also included data-mining equipment called a Narus STA 6400, "known to be used particularly by government intelligence agencies because of its ability to sift through large amounts of data looking for preprogrammed targets"
The NSA's stated goal was "to create a database of every call ever made [11]". Another headline read, NSA spy program broader than Bush admitted [12]... and Congress did nothing.
Unbelievably, Attorney General Gonzales, Top Spy Negroponte, and Pretensident Bush have all been caught lying about this spying program.

They have all been Caught Red Handed - government officials Caught Lying about the most important aspect of America- our Freedom. They have been exposed. Yet the media just covers it up, and everyone pretends that if they had really been caught, then surely somebody would have done something... but it's now clear that DC Politicians are too cowardly.
In short, it's clear that when Bush and Co say the spying is to protect us- it's just another lie. Now lets force the mainstream media to cover it!
