Spying

Legal Scholars Letter to Congress:
The DOJ letter fails to offer a plausible legal defense of the NSA domestic spying program... it is also beyond dispute that, in such a democracy, the President cannot simply violate criminal laws behind closed doors because he deems them obsolete or impracticable.

The separation of wealth in America - The L Curve:

The red line represents a graph of family income across the population. The height of the curve at any point is the height of a stack of $100 bills equalling that income.

Median US family income (the family at the 50 yard line) is ~$40,000 (a stack of $100 bills 1.6 inches high.)

--The family on the 95 yard line earns about $100,000 per year, a stack of $100 bills about 4 inches high.

--At the 99 yard line the income is about $300,000, a stack of $100 bills about a foot high.

--The curve reaches $1 million (a 40 inch high stack of $100 bills) one foot from the goal line.

--From there it keeps going up...it goes up 50 km (~30 miles) on this scale!

Notice how even those with $1,000,000 income are down with the peons, near ground level, only the billionaires - the last .0001 percent, go vertical... $1 million = 40 inch stack of $100 bills, but $1 billion is a 1/2 mile stack of $100s. The billionaires now own more wealth than the bottom 95% combined!

The Boston Globe today has a report on President Bush's extraordinary power grab.

President Bush has quietly claimed the authority to disobey more than 750 laws enacted since he took office, asserting that he has the power to set aside any statute passed by Congress when it conflicts with his interpretation of the Constitution.

Among the laws Bush said he can ignore are military rules and regulations, affirmative-action provisions, requirements that Congress be told about immigration services problems, ''whistle-blower" protections for nuclear regulatory officials, and safeguards against political interference in federally funded research.

Here's a comparison with other presidents. The founding fathers would turn over in their graves if they learned how Bush has decimated the separation of powers doctrine.

MP3 Audio - ST911: Denial

Jim Fetzer: [911] has a psychological dimension to it, because the very idea that the government that's supposed to protect you might in fact be abusing you- it's a lot like incest. Something that's so traumatic and so devastating to contemplate that- you know how many mothers deny that it's even taking place, or in this case- so many citizens deny that it's even taking place- because they're petrified of the ramifications.

Pyschologists call it cognitive dissonance when there are beliefs that threaten your previous beliefs that you find it impossible to reconcile, and denial becomes the role that you adopt.

George Noory: It's almost as, 'if it is true, we don't want to know it.'

JF: That's right. But we have to know- it's like cancer, that claim that, 'what you don't know can't hurt you' has never been more false. This government has fallen into the hands of gross abusers- they're committing incest on the nation on a grand scale, and if we don't stop them, we are going to suffer the ravages, it's going to get worse and worse and worse.

The total Federal Debt was $6 trillion when Bush came into office, now it's $8.2 TRillion and climbing, or so I thought. Then I read this:

The federal government’s fiscal exposures
now total more than $46 trillion,
up from about $20 trillion in 2000.

This staggering revelation was included in the US Dept. of Treasury's own report.
2005 Financial Report of the United States Government (1mb PDF)
(Page 28 printed, or pg 32 in Adobe reader)

That's an additional $26 TRILLION in debt since Dubya took office!

I found this interesting 80s documentary "Captive Minds" on how cults use subtle brainwashing to convince their followers. It's quite interesting how they recruited young people looking for direction and convinced them to believe total bullshit.

1. "A conflict between what they have been brought up to believe and this new belief sets up a battle in the mind of the recruit which can lead to total confusion."

The interviewee had internal conflicts, arguing with herself. Her rational self knew this was wrong, but another little voice told her to hush up and go along with everyone else, don't make trouble.

2. "The group must always be made to feel that they are right. Others are wrong, or better yet, evil."

Sound familiar?

"The world is a dangerous place not
because of those who do evil
but because of those who look on
and do nothing."

-- Albert Einstein

After all the lies and corruption, the death and destruction caused by this group of greedy bastards in DC...

I am mad as hell (mp3) and I'm not going to take it anymore. Does this ring a bell? I hope so, because I'm looking for thousands of people that feel just like we do, cause I'm Takin' my Country Back (mp3 - play for bushites)

It is our duty to do something about this madness gripping America. But what do we do?

Run for Congress. You need to look up who is running for Congress in your district- and if the choices are some Bushite Republican and Nancy "got no plan" Pelosi - then it is your duty.

"Since the Federal Government has shown
that it isn't going to do anything about it but talk
then it is a duty.
It is your and my duty as men, as human beings
it is our duty to our people."

-- Malcom X

WASHINGTON - Military interrogators posing as FBI agents at the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, wrapped terrorism suspects in an Israeli flag and forced them to watch homosexual pornography under strobe lights during interrogation sessions that lasted as long as 18 hours...

FBI agents working at the prison complained about the military interrogators' techniques in e-mails to their superiors from 2002 to 2004, 54 e-mails.. showed. The agents tried to get the military interrogators to follow a less coercive approach and warned that the harsh methods could hinder future criminal prosecutions of terrorists because information gained illegally is inadmissible in court.

Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Miller, who was in charge of the prison at the time, overrode the FBI agents' protests..

[Ed Note: Miller was then sent to run Abu Ghraib. The sent this torture freak General to Iraq on purpose!]

The memos offer some of the clearest proof yet that the abuses and torture of prisoners in U.S. military custody weren't the isolated actions of low-ranking soldiers but a result of policies approved by senior officials.

The Concept:
435 Patriots to Take Back America

The Premise:
1. Politicians of Both Parties have failed We the People.
2. Most of America knows this.

A Common Sense Platform of Restoring the Constitution and removing every corrupt, spineless Congressperson in DC can win in every district nationwide.

"According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld admitted.

$2.3 trillion — that's $8,000 for every man, woman and child in America. To understand how the Pentagon can lose track of trillions, consider the case of one military accountant who tried to find out what happened to a mere $300 million.

"We know it's gone. But we don't know what they spent it on," said Jim Minnery, Defense Finance and Accounting Service.

Minnery, a former Marine turned whistle-blower, is risking his job by speaking out for the first time about the millions he noticed were missing from one defense agency's balance sheets. Minnery tried to follow the money trail, even crisscrossing the country looking for records.

"The director looked at me and said 'Why do you care about this stuff?' It took me aback, you know? My supervisor asking me why I care about doing a good job," said Minnery.
