Intro

Most people in America believe we live in a Democracy. After 2000 and 2004 I had my doubts about the integrity of our elections... Now, after the Aug 22nd Alaska primary I am positive- our Democracy is a sham.

Alaskans were asked to choose between candidates that they had never heard from- because the Division of Elections DID NOT send out the Official Election Pamphlet. The Deadline was July 22nd, a month before the Primary, I sent in my position statement and $300, and was counting on this booklet to get my name and platform into every town in the state.

But that never happened, the Division of Elections never sent out the booklet! Sure I thought they might stall, but to never even send it out...? I went to vote yesterday thinking that perhaps it was just my neighbors and I that had not received the booklet, but it seems that nobody had. I thought surely they'd have a booklet on hand, so voters could at least read the candidate statements before voting- there was no booklet.

It's Friday morning, the Dem Primary is Tuesday, and thus far, there has been a literal blackout of my name in Alaska media. I've written Letters to the Editor to over 30 Alaska Newspapers- as far as I know none of them have been published. I talked with the Anchorage Daily News person yesterday, she flat out lied to me telling me that my letter was published in that morning's paper.

I wrote Anchorage TV stations and the Alaska Public Radio Network asking about a candidate debate- nobody was interested. Then on Wednesday night, my neighbor told me that a debate was on the PBS station right then. Huh? They invited all the other candidates except for me! I admit that I forgot to write KAKM, but I did talk with Steve Heimel from APRN, who works in the same building as KAKM- he told me they weren't going to have a debate- fully knowing that his sister station was hosting the debate. I called KAKM to find out why I wasn't invited- "John" has refused to answer or return my calls.

Why wasn't I invited to the debate on PBS? Why won't they publish my Letters, why won't news reporters mention my name?

I invite you to look thru this site and see for yourself- there are enough buried news stories (evidence), for us Democrats to replace Don Young- regardless of how much money he spends on tv ads.

What's even more shocking, is that the Official Election Pamphlet still has not arrived.

Hello Americans - Bush is openly violating his oath of office! He is openly defying the Constitution a la Hitler! And Congress, via their inaction, is just as guilty.

The media tells us that the JonBenet Ramsey murder is more important- I'm betting you're smart enough to see thru that. Wake up and see the corporate media's diversion tactics.

Bush claims the spying is to protect us.... hmmmm, when he lied to start the Iraq war, he claimed it was to 'protect us'...

What I'd like to stress during my campaign for US Congress, is that I am a traditional JFK Democrat, as many Conservatives may feel like they are traditional Eisenhower Republicans. The current system has been co-opted with phony Republicans and Phony Democrats.

It's not about Republican vs Democrat this election, it's about right vs. wrong. Continuing an unjust war is wrong. Using Depleted Uranium is wrong. Refusing to test our troops for DU is wrong. "Stop Loss" orders are basically slavery- soldiers are forced to stay in the killing zone, even if their committment is up- that is wrong.

I will do my best to end these unjust and immoral practices that do not benefit American citizens, but merely enrich the weapons makers as the Corrupt Congress works to prolong the war indefinitely.

He said this in Jan '05... a year and a half ago... the death toll is still 2+ soldiers per day, but the money we're spending is up from $5 billion per month to $10 billion. Congress already passed $50 billion for next year (didn't want it to come up during election season)... this is the kind of progress they're making. Now it's every 3 days, cha-ching! Another $1 Billion dollars charged on your grandkids credit card.

Who is getting the money? The military-industrial complex. Isn't it a bad equation to have companies get rich from a war... isn't that a powerful incentive for more war.

The price of oil is affecting every working family in America, yet somehow it's ok that Exxon is raking in record profits. The price of gas is forcing the price of all goods through the roof... yet, Wall St. tells us the economy is doing just great. Congress just gave themselves another raise, but minimum wage hasn't been raised in ten years, inflation adjusted its at the lowest point since 1957. If a family was just scraping by before... then now with the price of gas double, the price of eggs, cheese, milk, etc way up... then clearly they're doing worse than before.

Who is the government working for, because it sure as hell ain't we the people.

Don has $2,600,000 in the bank already... no democratic challenger will come close to that. Does that mean it's hopeless? No- it means that "We The People" (that are not billionaires) have to work together to reclaim our country from the Big $$.

The last five years have been some of the most outrageously corrupt in the history of the US Government. Don Young has been in Congress during this obscene corruption, but he hasn't done a single thing to stop it. For instance- $9 Billion was lost in Iraq, they paid contractors with $100,000 cash bricks stuffed into gunny sacks... that's our money being looted! Yet Don Young did nothing about it. The truth is that Young is nothing more than a Yes Man for Dick Cheney. I think if given the truth, Alaska would vote to kick the Yes Men out of office.

If Americans understood the gravity of the situation, they would surely choose the future of the country over the quick profits offered by Young's promise of pork.

There is no need for another "congressional investigation" (stall & coverup) - the proof is already public knowledge*(UnConstitutional spying, Lies that led to war, Katrina Camps & FEMA 'incompetence', 9/11, signing statements, stolen elections)

Any Democratic Candidate unwilling to talk about the reasons for impeachment is either incompetent or controlled by the establishment.

Ask yourself, do Karl Rove & Dick Cheney want Democrats talking up the reasons for impeachment? No. So why would a Democrat do their bidding? Because they are given lots of money for the campaign, and told to obey the party line, or the money is pulled. It's the John Kerry style of campaigning...
