This article was headline news in the Miami Herald July 5th, 1987, considering the Katrina Concentration Camps and the Iran War talk, this seems highly relevant again today.

Lt. Col. Oliver North, for example, helped draw up a controversial plan to suspend the Constitution in the event of a national crisis, such as nuclear war, violent and widespread internal dissent or national opposition to a U.S. military invasion abroad.

Republicans tacked on the Millionaire Estate Tax Cut to the Minimum wage bill, Sprinkling the poor, showering the rich:

Yeah, you read that correctly: The economically distressed would get an additional $2.10 an hour, whereas the Walton kids and the Hilton sisters would get untold millions.

Regarding the millionaire tax cut, House Majority Leader John Boehner said, “This is the best shot we’ve got; we’re going to take it.”

Clearly, politics has been reduced to dirty tricks- with shenanigans like this, either the super-rich get their tax cuts, or the working poor get nothing. Why must this continue- why should we accept another day with such a useless set of fools making laws to enrich themselves and their cronies.

"Progressive Candidate" Tucks Tail and Backs pro-war Dem incumbent

In a sign of Democratic unity, Mark Wilson will tomorrow officially endorse Maria Cantwell and announce his intention to campaign for the Senator full time, NPI has learned.

The news, which may come as a surprise to many in the state's political circles, is a great sign that the State Democratic Party is quite healthy going into the 2006 midterm elections. While we Democrats prize dissent and the freedom to speak our minds, we also know how important it is to be united.

What a load of BS- click here for the rest

-----------

While the first two stories make logical sense, this last one has me wondering... was Wilson a plant from the start, or did they get to him? He campaigned for 16 months only to give up two months before the primary- huh? Cantwell voted for the Iraq War, hasn't done jack to hold Bush and Co accountable on the Lies, Patriot Act, Spying, Oil co looting, Halliburton corruption, etc. Just recently she sponsored the "Iran Freedom Support Act".... ie war with Iran is coming up sooner than you think. She's not really a Democrat, but just another establishment ho posing as a 'representative'- and now the 'progressive' anti-war, anti-patriot-act challenger suddenly turns around and says he backs her 100%... wtf, eh?

The Alaska Congressman trying to stymie Cape Wind is listed as the 6th worse offender in the nation for taking $83,000 worth of free corporate jet rides.

Out of 600+ members of congress, Don Young ranks just behind President Bush for taking hand-outs from corporate America.

Spending over $900 million of taxpayer money for bridges to nowhere wasn't enough for this scoundrel. He also had to take free rides on corporate jets from businessmen doing business with matter he was to write laws about. Here's the item in the Buffalo News today:

Leading the list was former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, the Democrats' 2004 candidate for vice president. He reported $313,749 worth of corporate jet travel. Next came President Bush, at $149,667; followed by Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., $125,187; Rep. Michael G. Oxley, R-Ohio, $108,700; Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., $102,000; Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska, $83,000; and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., $69,000...

"It's about those with the money and the guns,
and those without."

I was listening to this music mix Farangs made with Greg Palast quotes of wisdom, and it really struck me as an undeniable truth.. so much so that I made this page in tribute (- ;

"It's about those with the money and the guns, and those without."

This is a global problem. Where there is poverty, it's easy to pay off poor people to wield weapons against their neighbors to protect the entrenched interests. It's the same in every country.

I wish I had the time... Somebody out there ought to research the Bush, Carlyle, BCCI, Dubai, Money Laundering, Afghanistan #1 opium again, Skull and Bones drug running connection.

For CIA officer Larry Johnson:
"When you look at three of the top world ports for smuggling, counterfeit and contraband activity, those are, by my count, Hong Kong, Dubai and Panama.
Dubai Ports World controls two of the three"

Exxon's 2006 Net Income: $36.1 billion
Exxon returned $23 Billion to shareholders via Dividends- cashing in on Bush's Tax Cuts 'to help the economy'.

Oil Companies to get $7 Billion Tax Cut
from 90s law when price of oil was low. Now the Oil Corps are flush with profits,
but our gov't is still giving them our  oil Royalty FREE.

During the last several years that I've been studying politics intensely, it's become apparent that Congress is living in a bubble, an information vacuum - they don't even know what's really going on.

Take for instance Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning, who cancelled all his newspaper subscriptions and only watches Fox News. Why is a clueless individual such as this allowed to make decisions on things like the "Patriot" Act? It's ridiculous.

Well, that's just one Senator you say. How about the two Democrats Murtha and Moran at the C-span town hall forum a young woman asked them about the pentagon's missing trillions- and they dismissed her as a silly girl. This (guessing) twenty-something blogger knew something, a major something, that the two $160,000 CongressCritters didn't know. Something they should have known. Since then, neither of the two Critters has issued a statement or posted an apology to the young woman - it appears they'd rather just forget about it.
