10+ Reasons to End the Occupation Now
Many Americans believe the $$ Media lie that the Iraqis are happy with our occupation.
They are not, life is miserable- pulling US troops out is in our best interests,
and it is what the Iraqi people want.

82% of Iraqis Strongly Oppose
presence of Occupation Troops

Favor U.S.

Life under the Occupation is not better for ordinary Iraqis- that's just propaganda.

The US has no idea what it has gotten itself into: I am troubled by the mainstream news I see on the internet. What isn’t being reported is the terrible living situation for millions of Iraqis, US troops being permanently disabled (physically and/or mentally) on what has become a daily basis, and generations of younger Iraqis being raised with a deep disdain towards the US and British who sanctioned, bombed, invaded and now occupy their country.

Families say they were given 5 minutes to get out.  In a tactic reminiscent of Israeli crackdowns in the West Bank and Gaza, the U.S. military has begun destroying the homes of suspected guerrilla fighters in Iraq's Sunni Triangle, evacuating women and children, then leveling their houses with heavy weaponry.  Instead of bulldozers, they use DU bullets to destroy houses.

100,000 Iraqi Shiites March to Demand Elections
The crowd chanting: "Yes, yes to elections! No, no to occupation!"  Why do the 'electable' Democrats all agree with Bush that we must remain in Iraq for years.  Do the 'major' Dem candidates offer a true alternative to Bush?  No- that's why they're electable... they are phony republicrats.  Vote Kucinich for a true alternative.

We Do Not Want Occupying Forces in Our Country
"We are not the Taliban and we are not al-Qaida," Alwaadh said. "But if you want to hear me say it, fine. We will fight for our rights. We will fight … we will not sacrifice our independence, and we do not want occupying forces in our country."

Christmas in Baghdad... Riverbend's Blog
Explosions and bombing almost all day yesterday and deep into the night. At some points it gets hard to tell who is bombing who? Resistance or Americans? Tanks or mortars? Cluster bombs or IEDs? Nothing on the news… to see the reports on CNN, Abu Dhabi, and Al-Arabia you'd think there was nothing going on in Baghdad beyond the usual thumps and thuds. Yesterday was *very* unusual. Embassies, mines, residential areas and the Green Zone… and the sirens. I hate the sirens. I can stand the explosions, the rattling windows, the slamming doors, the planes, the helicopters… but I feel like my heart is wailing when I hear the sirens.

Lakes of Sewage in the Streets
All of the houses I visited today in Sadr City had the same problem-little or no electricity, no running water aside from 2-3 hours a day of the brown smelly liquid that sputters from their pipes when their small pumps function, and raw sewage outside in the streets where the children are playing. This was on a good day. The last rain was several days ago, and not a big one at that. Ahmed tells me, as do several of the other men I spoke with throughout the poverty-stricken area, that during most rain showers there are literally lakes of raw sewage that fill the streets and the nearby homes.

Iraq: Who are the terrorists?
About a dozen American soldiers in Baghdad kick-opened a family door at dead of night and grabbed a young woman by her night dress from shoulder top while she was screaming and running to the other room amid terrifying situation where other elderly women and children were crying helplessly. This is what one could see in BBC TV screen during its World News in the night of November 13.  The occupying power is terming the Iraqi resistance forces as terrorists, but these resistance forces obviously see the American forces as terrorists on their soil. Indeed, in several open interviews by the BBC and CNN, ordinary Iraqis openly asked American forces to leave Iraq immediately.

Military Families Speak Out

"The Occupation of Iraq is wrong, there is no right way to do a wrong thing." -- Lou Plummer audio

Bring The Troops Home
Our troops do not choose which wars to fight. They rely on our military and government leaders to make those decisions; to use them judiciously, to assure a compelling reason to put them in danger, to protect them in battle.  That leadership has failed.

13 yr old would like her father to return home alive
Many other children like myself, across our great nation, want their parents and family members home. When our forefathers developed this nation they stated that all people had a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I feel that my right to pursue happiness has been taken away from me, because having my dad in my life and with me brings me happiness. Please send our troops home to their families so they can be happy.

bad news
not all troops are happy with this bs war

BringThemHomeNow.org
Not one more troop killed in action. Not one more troop wounded in action. Not one more troop psychologically damaged by the act of terrifying, humiliating, injuring or killing innocent people. Not one more troop spending one more day inhaling depleted uranium. Not one more troop separated from spouse and children. This is the only way to truly support these troops, and the families who are just as much part of the military as they are.

Bush Lied - They died
Multiply these pictures by 20 to know what the Iraqis have lost in civilian deaths, by 1,000 to know their debility and deformity from wounds and the poisoning of their cities.  How many barrels of oil are represented by one body?  How much suffering is embodied in just one drop?

Howard Zinn- The Logic of Withdrawal
We are at a turning point in the history of our nation. We can go on being a great military power, engaging in war after war, in which innocent people abroad and our own men and women die or are crippled for life. Or we can become a peaceful nation, always ready to defend ourselves, but not sending our troops and planes all over the world for the benefit of the oil interests and the other great corporations that profit from war.

what's so funnyTurning America's Youth into War Criminals
is this a good thing?
This video has caused a great deal of controversy. Originally shown on ABC TV, it was first shown as an object lesson as to what happens to Iraqi Insurgents who dare show weapons before US forces. However, as time goes on, doubt has begun to surface as to whether the people shown blown to pieces with the 30mm cannon on the Apache were really insurgents, or just harmless farmers.

A Case Study of Excessive Force
"We woke up to the missiles hitting our home," she explains, almost trembling from beneath her hejab. "Then the soldiers came and blew up one of our trucks and attacked our sheep. They then came into the house and took everyone out." Four of her children were hooded, bound and taken away. Afterwards, even though the Americans had the complete compliance of the family, she claims they ransacked the house, confiscating the family's two rifles, their jewelry and their life savings of 25 million Iraqi Dinars (about US$18,000). Some of the soldiers outside came across the three other vehicles owned by various family members, a large truck used for moving produce, a small sedan and a new pickup truck. Each had ever tire systematically shot out, and several bullets squarely placed in the engine blocks in an unmistakably intentional manner.

Irrational Anger?

and we didn't even talk about the War Crimes of Depleted Uranium and Cluster Bombs.  Or of the shameless looting of Iraq's natural resources and OUR money.  A $10 million contract subcontracted for $250,000, the rest is gravy.  They really are robbing America blind!  Bush, Cheney and friends should pay the $160 billion and we should take our money back to fund our schools and rebuild our nation.

A Better World is Possible !!!
