Pro-War Arguments Don’t Hold Water- A comprehensive shredding of the Rep/Dem reasons to continue the war

Filed under: Iraq, US Govt, headline news, PNAC — ben @ 10:55 am

There is absolutely no good reason to continue this war.

Pro-War
Argument
(Buried) Truth
We can’t abandon the Iraqis Leaked UK Ministry of Defense Poll
82% of Iraqis Strongly Oppose the presence of Occupation Troops
67 per cent of Iraqis feel less secure because of the occupation

Howard Zinn: “We are not trying to create democracy in Iraq. We are not trying to bring liberty to Iraq.
We are trying to bludgeon them
into submission.
We’re Liberating Iraqis Napalm &  White Phosphorus
Depleted Uranium
Hundreds of tons of Radioactive waste spread across their backyard. (mp3)
Abu Ghraib Torture
Imprisoning thousands of innocents (Red Cross: 70-90% of those arrested
are innocent!
)
We can’t let the terrorists win We are fighting Iraqis defending their homeland, not terrorists.
Of 1,300 suspected insurgents arrested over the past five months
in and around Ramadi,
none has been a foreigner.
Civil War Sunnis and Shias united in Protest of US Occupation
Compare April 9th 2003 & 2005
Many Iraqis believe
the suicide bombers
are the work of the CIA
blowing up civilians and mosques
revered by both Sunni and Shia,
in an effort to create the Civil War
Excuse
for continuing the occupation.
Bush: No timetables for withdrawal or the terrorists will just wait us out Leaders of Iraq’s sharply divided Shiites, Kurds and Sunnis called for a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S.-led forces in the country and said Iraq’s opposition had a “legitimate right’’ of resistance. ie- they’re not terrorists, but Iraqis resisting the takeover of their country.
Our troops
want
to stay
Congressman back from Iraq:
Most troops want to come home.

Troop crippled thanks to “Stop Loss” order
he fulfilled his duty, but the army forced him to return to Iraq.
We’re
making
great
progress
Oct. Troop Deaths
Double 2004, Triple 2003

Generals to Congress: Only 750 Iraqi troops fully trained out of 200,000

Iraq’s Oil Wealth given to multinationals.
The Iraqi people lose hundreds of Billions of $$,
while oil Execs are laughing.
We Must
“Support the Troops”
Supporting the troops means not sending them into harms way unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Bush & Co Lied
to start a war.
That is TREASON.

progress?

The real reasons ‘they’ want to continue the war:

Bush’s noble cause is pure “Big Lie” BUllSHit- they want to stay for the profit and power of the military-industrial complex. Don’t believe me, listen to Howard Zinn, Robert Fisk (mp3), Dwight Eisenhower & Andy Rooney.

    Great work!

    :)

    Peace.

  2. nixon Says:

Nixon in 1969: “The precipitate withdrawal of American forces from Vietnam would be a disaster not only for South Vietnam but for the United States and for the cause of peace.”

Bush yesterday: “Setting an artificial deadline to withdraw would vindicate the terrorists’ tactics of beheadings and suicide bombings and mass murder — and invite new attacks on America.”

Nixon: “An announcement of a fixed timetable for our withdrawal would completely remove any incentive for the enemy to negotiate an agreement. They would simply wait until our forces had withdrawn and then move in.”

Bush: “Setting an artificial deadline to withdraw would send a signal to our enemies — that if they wait long enough, America will cut and run and abandon its friends.”

Nixon: “If necessary … we will withdraw all our forces from Vietnam on a schedule in accordance with our program, as the South Vietnamese become strong enough to defend their own freedom.”

Bush: “And as the Iraqi security forces stand up, coalition forces can stand down — and when our mission of defeating the terrorists in Iraq is complete, our troops will return home to a proud nation.”

Nixon delivered his Vietnamization speech in November 1969, but the last U.S. ground troops didn’t leave Vietnam until March 1973. More than 8,000 American soldiers died in the meantime.

  3. N.A. Says:

Yes, well I think that I agree that they are only making excuses. But we can’t just walk out. I think the killing should stop, and the re-building should START!!

War is easy to start, had to end…Impossible to forget.

  4. BR Says:

It’s time to stop the war by cutting off it’s funding. Do not pay income tax. For 2006, file a new form W-4 with your employer. At the bottom is a place to check that you are exempt from tax withholding. Do it, even if the IRS considers it to be illegal. The war in Iraq is illegal, and you are participating in it if you pay war taxes.

If you don’t want to do something illegal, there is another way. Reduce your taxable income below the poverty level. That’s what I did, but it does mean learning to live very simply.

  5. bush Says:

“and when our mission of defeating the terrorists in Iraq is complete, our troops will return home to a proud nation.”

“…right after we get dem darn terrorizers in syria, iran, n. korea, venezuela…heheh, snukms.”

Your better off working for blackwater death squads then joining the US army.

    Safer

    Learn More
    Pillage with impunity

The best part, your not lied to about…”da mission”.

I thought the mission was accomplished?

    Yeah, thanks to these guys.
