Kucinich to Hold Congressional Briefing on October Surprise “Is the Administration Ramping Up For A War Against Iran?”
“Is Iran A Threat?”
As dissappointing as the US Congress has been in their oversight of this irrational and immoral administration, one congressman stands strong in his attempt to stop the next atrocity in Iran before it happens…again. Congressman Kucinich has been doing his job(not pages), listening to the experts, reading the paper and seeing the obvious imminent threat of the Bush Administration…
The Bush Administration is preparing for war against Iran, using an almost identical drumbeat of weapons of mass destruction, imminent threat, alleged links to Al Qaeda, and even linking Iran with a future 911.
In the past few months, reports have been published in Newsweek, ABC News, and GQ Magazine that indicate the US is recruiting members of paramilitary groups to destabilize Iran through violence. The New Yorker magazine and the Guardian have written that the US has already deployed military inside Iran. The latest issue of Time writes of plans for a naval blockade of Iran at the Strait of Hormuz, through which 40% of the world’s oil supply passes….
the International Atomic Energy Agency called “erroneous, misleading, and unsubstantiated” statements relating to Iran’s nuclear program which came from a staff report of the House Intelligence committee….
I have demanded that the Government Oversight subcommittee on National Security and International Relations, of which I am the ranking Democrat, hold hearings to determine how in the world the Director of National Intelligence, John Negroponte, viewed the report without correcting the obvious inaccuracies before it was published.
Most members of Congress are in their districts focusing on getting re-elected, and I would suggest the best way to be re-elected is to start doing their damn jobs, starting with attending this briefing…
October Surprise: Is the Administration Ramping Up For A War Against Iran? Is Iran A Threat?
Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 10am
2154 Rayburn House Office BuildingWith:
Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH)
Dr. David Kay,Former IAEA/UNSCOM Chief Nuclear Weapons Inspector Colonel
Sam Gardner (Ret.), US Air Force, National War College
Joseph Cirincione, Senior Vice President for National Security and International Affairs at the Center for American Progress.
Dr. Trita Parsi, President of the National Iranian American Council
…where they will learn what Sam Gardner has already told us through CNN,
the Bush administration had already given a “go ahead” to US military operation against Iran. “In fact, we’ve probably been executing military operations inside Iran for at least 18 months,” Col. Gardner said. “The evidence is overwhelming.”
How is it possible after all of the lies, most congressmen just continue to live in a bubble? Denial certainly must feel better than admitting our government has been overrun with mob like criminals., but at some point doesn’t their conscience kick in? Doesn’t anyone, perhaps their wife or congressional page, remind them that it is their job to provide oversight on the executive branch? Perhaps the Bush Adminstration has some Foley like information on everyone in congress? Now is a good time for all congressmembers interested in democracy to redeem themselves, stand up together with Congressman Kucinich and demand some real accountability for the recent parade of lies.

Can I vote for this guy instead of the dumbass Republicans who are NOT representing anyone but themselves???
October 10th, 2006 at 8:56 am
The solution is PAPER BALLOTS, HAND COUNTED. If that can be rushed into place in the next three week (yes, it is doable), the ReThugliCons will be absolutely destroyed in the coming election. This set of hideous slime has minimal support among anyone not chained to the tube with Faux “News” on 24/7.

Kucinich is awesome.
The man should have been president.
It’s not too late.
Kucinich for president, 2008!!!

I voted for Kucinich and will do it again! I want him for my president!!!!

This is the man. At least the last of us Americans, win or lose, have a man to rally behind and fight alongside of. Attack the bastards, Dennis, don’t let them walk over us without a fight.

The outing of foley was only a warning to this administration, what can be done, if they didn’t stop dragging their feet on attacking Iran. Clinton didn’t act, so they tried to to remove him as quickly as possible via lewinsky. Its always sexual in nature.
Now attacking Iran is the only option they , the republicans have left. If they want to hold on to power. They are caught between a rock and a hard place.
They are afraid if they lose both houses, the dems may hold them to account. If they don’t attack Iran, they will be exposed for the massive sexual and corrupt deviants they are.
Does anybody have that picture of Gannon whoever and Bush hugging? Why would the president of the United States be hugging a prostitute?
Attacking Iran will bring the repubs numbers up some. But not enough to hold on to power. But the willingness of the people controlling the voting machines to cheat and steal another election, will.

The only 3 people that I think have an ounce of honesty, Kucinich, Ron Paul, and Cynthia McKinney. McKinney is now gone. We’ve got to get rid of AIPAC otherwise Paul and Dennis will be gone too.
BTW, Kucinich attempted to make a great stand on the Space Preservation Bill in 2001. This bill needs to get some attention as it is crucially important. Life and death important.

Kucinach has the pulpit - and his words are to be admired. But, I note, he neglected to indicate just who runs this insane asylum - it us - not Kucinache - not the republicans - not the democrats - not the Israels - not Zionist masking as Jews - BUT US.
There is also Ron Paul and Cynthia Mckinney - 3 people in congress have the courage to say the words.
Now I wan to see some ball busting on CSPAN - I want fights.
I want to hear patriots in or civil agencies and military say these words: “We will execute a coup unless and establish a provisional government until these law-breakers are in re-education center.
You say - “OH NO - NOT A COUP - NOT A PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT!” Get over it - we’ve been victims of a coup seince 1980. Most recent outrage were the vote machine selections of 2000 and 2004.
We can’t loose freedoms or laws that have already been stolen - so coup and provisional government would not be much difference. About 6 months to a year of CSPAN hearings - and believe me - those on the bottom of this corruption food chan will spill their guts once supeaonas and police knocj at their door.
Ask yourself - if all the reasons for invading Iraq were false - what do we say to all them dead Iraqis - why is DSaddam still on trial.
I suggest - selected officials that resign immediately and become “constitutional” witnesses will only have to spend a few years in re-education centers - the rest get life - Mark Foley can ask a big inmate named BuBa what he’s wearing or how long his erection is.
It over - I’ve had it - the time for being civil has passed!
Our media is owned by the War Industries and COmmodity Bankers. They need to be broke up

Kucinich has always been a man of the common man as he came from the grips of poverty. He is as true a patriot that I have ever seen in politics, not the criminals that pose as such in the WH. He’s a little guy with a lot of fight and he will fight for you, for liberty. Yes, Kucinich for President.

Remember people, God controlls all governments, He allows to happen what He sees fit. He knows every thought and every deed which is done, wether good or evil. If our Country doesn’t turn from it’s evil ways soon, The outcome is going to be devestating. We must pray now more than ever to ask our Lord to release the evil and Corruptness from these rulers and Kings of the Earth.

John Hagee of San Antonio, Texas chairs a group called Christians United For Israel (CUFI) which believes that the U.S. must unite to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iran to precipitate Armageddon, followed by the more desirable Second Coming of Jesus. John Hagee is associated with high profile neocon Republicans, i.e. Ed Gillespie.
Today belief in “end-times” prophecy is common among Americans - i.e. “Left Behind”, www.LeftBehindProphecy.com, over 50 million copies sold and then there’s that nuisance, which the Republicans happen to weave very nicely into their political narrative of “terrorism” and “the long war”.
With over 25 million Fundamentalists, in the United States, the popularity of belief in “end-times” prophecy shapes government policy.
In a Weekly Standard column entitled “It’s Our War,” editor William Kristol called Iran “the prime mover behind the terrorist groups who have started this war,” which, he argued, should be considered part of “the global struggle against radical Islamism.”
From my vantage point at this time, right now in my quiet suburb, America seems like a safer place than Israel. Just getting to Israel seems risky with my shampoo being a possible weapon and I have to get it on the airplane to wash my hair before I enter the holy sight of the wailing wall.
No, I am not antisemitic. I am Jewish.
This notion that we must kill all of the terrorists over there so that we don’t have to fight them on our own soil, even though we have executed Timothy McVeigh, an American terrorist.
On the September 17th Sunday morning talk show program, McGlaughlin Group, Pat Buchanan argued in favor of President Bush’s right to take away any due process to those people we capture in the war on terror. Buchanan said Timothy McVeigh, an American terrorist, who was given the death penalty for killing Americans deserved due process because he is an American citizen.
Today some might argue that Muslim extremists deserve to be tortured and held without due process to protect Americans.
We have a declining economy in which our major export is the military. The government headed by puppet George W. Bush sent our gross national product, the military to New Orleans after Katrina before he thought to organize an effort to send food and shelter alternatives. The Military came to the city in greater numbers at greater speed than Fema tents and trailors.
God forbid another terrorist attack or natural disaster strikes your nieghborhood or a community near you. This government will spend tax-payer’s money first on developing “Divine Strake”, a supposed nuclear simulation test, than it will spend on real homeland security. Homeland security shouldn’t just be protecting the masses from crazy Middle Eastern terrorists. Homeland security should mean economic security.
The regime in place does not concern itself with maintaining economic security for this country. The regime in place concerns itself with robbing the masses, i.e. private accounts verses Social Security.
So far as I know, I do not live next door to a suicide bomber, but I am concerned that the very real threat to American Citizens is our very own government which is the largest arms dealer and which commits terrorist attacks in the name of our national security. I am concerned that our own national government is a threat to our national security when a bill called NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND is supposedly supposed to help better educate our kids, but in reality, it is a law that was passed to draft our children for the military.
God forbid we have another 8 years of neocons like George W. Bush in power, or even worse, like Dick Cheney. The military draft will become the law of the land and our children will have to find some safe place in a corner of the earth, as in this long war we must fight the terrorists over there.

Not a problem at all — Al Qaeda will strike and kill Kucinich, both eliminating this problem at home and giving us a reason to nuke Iran (after all that’s where Al Qaeda is from, stupid CIA for spelling it with a “q” instead of the “n” at the end… Not our fault! Intelligence failure!).

I think the casualties caused by our War of Choice need to be more than numbers. We have been protected from the horror of Iraq. Pictures say a thousand words. Everyone is spinning the war. Innocent Iraqi people are living it. How can we feel shame for invading their country under false pretences, if we are protected from reality? We should be ashamed of what has been done already in our name. We have not expressed remorse for what has been done to the Iraqi people. Casualties are not numbers, they are living breathing people; mothers, fathers, children, grandparents, aunts, uncles, barber, neighbor.

Kucinich is awesome. I campaigned for him because he was right on every issue. An awesome ticket for 2008 would Be Kucinich and Ron Paul. A democrat and a Republican. Both with their heads definitely not in the sand, and not afraid to tell the truth. What’s wrong with Peace?
October 10th, 2006 at 4:13 pm
Great article, great challenge by Dennis, You are all true Patriots! We must work very hard to educate the masses to all the lies, false pretenses…and the preying on the clueless ignorant…who know more about their soft drinks, sports teams, cell phones, etc.,etc than what really goes on in our State & Fed Gov’t’s. It’s very scary. The right knows the richest 20% will vota for these GD Idiots no matter what they do–as long as their stocks & shares are hummin’(Ind. Military Complex related); their taxes keep geting cut, and Grover norquists brigade keeps cutting social programs for the least of us. Their domestic plan is to take us back to pre-FDR..where the poor were left to fend for themselves..when there were no pensions, S.S.,etc. They simply don’t care…and they are not true Christians. They are imposters…who have scammed the less than 40 watt shots…into giving their $$ and votes to these white devils. They are Satans best Disciples. A man with a briefcase can steal more money, kill more innocents than a poor schmoe, with a pea shooter–anytime. They must go—or we lose what’s left of the Republic–if we haven’t already lost it. This is a Class Warfare–but were not allowed to talk like that. But–we had better–cuz the rich cocksuckers don’t care about anybody outside their lil circles of ‘trusts’.
May God Bless the Sundown, on the Union.

In reply to Linda- Everyone should visit John Hagee’s website JHR.org. and tell them what you think of their hooyee. I did. They offered me a free bible. These people are a REAL problem. They will make it all happen with their self-fulfilling prophecies. And our selected presnit believes them . That is scary!! Now the ships are on their way to Iran. Can we stop the madness? I am not for Impeachment. I am for slapping the cuffs on all the war criminals and having a new Nuremburg trial. And sorry Colin, yes you too.

Once again I see comments for others to take the necessary steps to set something straight.
I ask you, have any of the comments, on any of the blogs or articles ever helped straighten out the situation the United States is in? No, words to the neocons pass by as leaves in the wind because these people have an adgenda and consideration for you and I is not included. We have lost our Constitution, the Bill of Rights has been distroyed, we have only the rights presently that are granted by our “leader” in Washington. Disagree? Well run off a copy of the Military Commissions Act of 2006. http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=109_cong_bills&docid=f:s3930enr.txt.pdf
It’s only 38 pages and you will see where, although it begins as if directed toward foreign terrorists, you can come under its coverage should martial law be declared. Plans have already been made for such a move in “Operation Northwoods”, look it up. Then terrorists (freedom fighters?) can be jailed for life, and there is no government accountability. The Supreme Court has been legally prevented from hearing anything about this law. You get one trial, they choose the judge and your attorney, and if you get railroaded, tough, there is no appeal. You can be arrested for not agreeing with the government policy. Look it up and wake up. Congress has just given the “leader” more power than Hitler had in 1938, and it’s all legal because none of us read the bill and raised hell. The controlled media knows whats going on but won’t tell us. You have to do it yourself.
Do the research, read the bill, I’ve given you the address, then start raising hell and you better do it quick before we get a place in those camps that Kellogg, Brown and Root are being paid $383 million of our dollars to be ready for filling.
We’re in it now and history tells us there is only one way out.

The problem today - as in every age - is that people are NOT students of history. Who was it that said if you do NOT heed the lessons of history, you will repeat them!
Folks, the Industrial Revolution occurred about 200 yaars ago. Ditto the American Republic. The latter first. What a concept - Life, Liberty, Property! And when they changed the wording to Happiness, that’s where things fell off course. Let me put it this way, if you have Life, Liberty and Property I would think that happiness is built in there already.
Redundancy can obfuscate the natural.
Instead, allowing a ruling class to determine your Happiness for you is a departure from the natural law and theories that are the essence of this great Republic - and that will never change! The best ideas in order to survive will always be tested and therefore it behooves one to be vigilant.
On the former, the Industrial Revolution while immensely beneficial to civilization has also brought problems. When terrorists can destroy buildings and kill innocent people to make a statemnent with the tools we have developed for our benefit it requires us to circle the wagons - we have NOT experienced anything of this magnitude ever and we must deal with it and most particularly with those who violate mutually agreed upon rules of engagemnet - the choices are clear, chaos or self-defense! Methinks the prudent thing to do prevails hands down by any rationale!
As far as those who commit these heinous acts are concerned, they have NOT considered the due process of their innocent victims. We cannot offer them what they are NOT offering the members of our Life, Liberty, Property membership.
There is NO question that, the American Republic has influenced civilization like many peoples from all over the world have done as well. What we share in common is the fundamental principle that we agree to disagree civilly!
This is exactly why we cannot allow these saber rattlers to interfere with our ability to cultivate mutually agreed upon and beneficial interactions of our peoples’ in the experience of Life, Liberty and Property.
It seems that people look at the situation in the Middle East and pretend almost like it is something that started with the Bush administration. The matter of fact is that the best ideas will win the day and our cumulative experience goes back to our common law heritage, thousands of years ago, that we here in America delineated in our Constitution and for the umpteenth time in essence is the fundamental belief in Life, Liberty, Property - in that order!
My advivce, which I take as well, be a student of history. The decision to war is one predicated on past experience - the alternative is the end of Life, Liberty, Property or simply put the ushering in of chaos!

We’re done for as a democratic republican (not the party) nation and those that still see this country as America in congress can be counted on one hand and most likely will end up like Paul Wellstone. Its now the “Homeland” of the sheep. I spoke to a vietnam “veteran” or so he claims that apparrently security is formost before preserving the constitution. I made a pledge to protect that constitution, a pledge he also took. But it looks like that the sheep see that “piece of paper” as nothing but just that - a piece of paper. So, we have another “911″ and blame it on the Iranians or even the North Koreans or both. We could blame the North Koreans for selling technology to the Iranians who masterminds “911″ part II. Everyone takes out their flags and wave it from their cars again - yeah, true patriots in the comfort of their cars. Send another Joe to kill in their place - that’s what I call true courage - yeah, right.
There are only a few in the military who are dissenters to the administration’s war policy, strategy and planning and most have to keep quiet while in the Sand Box because who knows - their next mission when they wake up might be in a very unpleasant part of Iraq and a trip home in a very cold aluminum box.

This is the same bullcrap that they used in 2003 about Iraq. When are we
the people going to stand up for our-
selves and demand answers and account-
ability from the sociopaths in the
White House and Congress?
All the rhetoric they spew about the
“war on terror” is nothing but lies
and distortions wrapped around the
flag. They achieved their goals with
9/11, and now they will use national
security as a basis for gaining more
power over we the people, here and a-
broad.
NEVER trust government or the media.
They are “working” for the same boss,
the FED and the bankers. They are the
true government, in fact they are more
powerful than any government, as well
as Congress.
People, to understand everything, learn
all you can about the FED. It will an-
swer all you need to know about who
really is controlling not just the U.S.
but the entire world.
We need to care about the entire na-
tions of the world, not just America.
We need to care about the people of
other nations, not just our country.
These monsters want to create a one
world government, led by the military.
We and the rest of the world will not
be under a democracy. They will have
all the power that we are giving them,
and they will use it against us. The
Constitution, Bill of Rights, and
etc., are already becoming/are irrele-
vant, look for yourself!
The truth is they covet power and con-
trol over everyone and everything. The
only thing(s) that will escape their
tyranny, are those near them, their
families and friends. Oppose them and
you will regret it. Join them and you
will be what they are, mass murderers,
dictatorial sociopaths!
I know it’s hard to believe, but I have
put together these facts, and it’s all
true, unfortunately. We need to fight
this battle NOW, so stand up and stop
them before it’s too late for all of
us. Tell your family, friends, anyone
and everyone you know and don’t know to
read all there is about the FED. All
our lives, and those all over the world
are truly at stake.

but it is hard to tell if they were actually there. First of all they state that the briefing was October 10, which it was actually October 11…and they don’t give much detail on the briefing. It wasn’t on CSPAN so I don’t know where else to find out what happened.
