The term “brainwashing” usually conjures up images on the subject being strapped in a chair being over-loaded with video/audio stimulation, perhaps given drugs… real CIA MK-Ultra type stuff.

Thus people think it’s absurd that most of America has literally been brainwashed- how could it be possible? Well, most people believe, as Willie Nelson sings, “They won’t lie to me, not on my own damn tv…” Yes Virginia, you’ve been lied to. Repeatedly, consistently, purposefully, lied to by those in power. Not just Bush, but Democrats too, via the mainstream media. Howard Zinn #4:

The American people aren’t stupid, but they can be misinformed, and they have been misinformed consistently by the corporate media.”

This has led to a population that believes that which is not true- brainwashed. They believe there are, to paraphrase Bush, ~ thousands of killers, barbaric killers plotting to attack us. They believe that it’s ok for a President to spy on Americans, to lie to start a war. They believe that terrorists ‘hate our freedoms’.

The television is a Govt propaganda tool, with all the ‘experts’ that agree that Dubya is a noble leader, that “everybody” thought Iraq had WMDs, that we can’t “cut and run” etc… Everything on tv and radio news is bullshit.

So you say, what do you mean, they’re outright lying? Yes, like when CNN leads their headline news with, “Bush says spying legal” - that’s not news, that what Bush says. They’re supposed to inform us of the truth, not just repeat whatever Bush says. So you see- Bush lies, the media repeats it, and the Democrats do nothing. That is the formula that has enabled lying crooks to usurp our freedoms in the name of “protection”.

9/11: think about the tv images that day and the weeks after, how many times did you see the 2nd plane crash and the fireball? It was the literal brainwashing of America…

Every American ought to read Orwell’s 1984- it’s not just about a police state, it’s about the government terrorizing it’s own citizens into accepting perpetual war. To paraphrase a comment I read somewhere, ‘it’s like a car air freshener, the 9/11 vanilla is losing it’s scent, time for a new all powerful flavor’ to re-establish the fear and control.

ps- recall in the 2000 election, BushCo was busted for ’subliminable’ ads that had, democ RATS, flash on the screen for a split second… this was a big story to which Bush said it was a ridiculous claim. Did anything ever come of that, was someone held accountable, did tv networks declare this never happened again? No, nothing… maybe they’re still doing it, and they just haven’t been caught yet.

Of course this sounds crazy, but what else am I left with. Explain the current insanity that has a President lie to start a war, a President whose dad makes money off war weapons, A Vice President with stock in Halliburton, a company still getting bonuses even after they overcharged $1.5 billion. We watched in horror as thousands were stranded after Katrina while the President continued his tour of photo-ops… America just saw Congress cut $40 billion from the poor while giving $70 billion to the rich… people ought to be outraged… and yet there is silence. It seems to me that America has been brainwashed into submission. Maybe its the fluroide… or the teflon, aspartame, prozac, ritalin, viagra, etc
