Bush declares he’s above the law
I’m not the only one stating that Bush has declared himself above the law….

In asserting his right to ignore the law, President Bush has slapped Congress right across the face and told them they better like it.
Congress can now mutter “Yes, sir” and cower in its corner like a whipped dog, as it has for most of the past five years, or it can fight back to defend its institutional authority. Either choice will mark a turning point in U.S. history.
Well put. Wake Up America! Pull yer head out of the stupid sitcoms and realize that a 21st century fascist dictatorship is trying to assert itself. The wannabe dictator shamelessly lied on national tv, everyone paying attention saw it… will he get away with it and become dictator, or will we demand the rule of law prevail?

Whether authorizing torture or wiretaps, [Bush] reserves the right to act irrespective of domestic or international law.
The question is whether Congress and the courts will acquiese in this usurpation of their own powers, or whether there are still enough men and women in those branches of government determined to honor their oath to defend the Constitution of the United States “from all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
A glimmer of hope from
Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel, who told reporters:
“I took an oath of office to the Constitution. I didn’t take an oath of office to my party or to my president.”
What is Congress going to do about it? Probably nothing, unless 
We put the heat on them.
Note to Progressives: Ever notice how all the big name progressive blogs have tons of ads… What would it take to get these bloggers to advertise a DC protest- they won’t earn any money, but they could help give birth to world peace.
