Bush Did Not “Uphold and Defend” The Constitution
Posted By ben On 17th December 2005 @ 17:06 In US Govt, headline news, Impeach, Spying | No Comments
Bush acknowledged that he authorized eavesdropping on Americans without a warrant, something expressly illegal according to the Constitution.
His argument is that we must trust him, they’re only spying on terrorists…
‘Hypothetical’ scenario: Out of the thousands of CEOs in America, there is at least one greedy bastard. This SOB could lose millions of dollars if a certain lawsuit is successful, he needs to stop that damned lawyer.
This CEO finds a corrupt cop (not that hard) - a quick $20,000 transfer and the CEO’s hitman can get the GPS data from the lawyer’s cell phone - obatined without a warrant thanks to Bush’s illegal order - then run him off the road to make it look like an accident.
So even if Bush were an absolute angel (not needing to protect his ass), there is still room for abuse- that’s why they have warrants, so there can be no abuses.
Bush would have you believe this scenario is not even close to USA 2006. Bush also said there was no doubt about the WMDs.
Think about these two big news stories this week
Spying on peace groups (not terrorists, but dissenters- that’s something Hitler would do.)
Spying on Americans without a warrant
Bush said he authorized this domestic spying program “using constitutional authority vested in me as commander-in-chief.” Of course that what he says- he’s covering his ass. He didn’t mention the “lone wolf” provision that allows him to classify an American an “enemy combatant” even though there is no connection to terrorist groups.
Bush says we should trust him. Suuuure. This SOB lied to start a war, and now we should trust you with spying on us, on those millions of Americans that would love to watch him on tv, in prison, easting slop, on the chain gang. I think the Bush family should lose their personal fortune… the Cheneys too.
Supposedly even Republicans are not to happy with the illegal spying… “There is no doubt that this is inappropriate,” said Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) whose Committee will be holding hearings on these abuses as soon the Senate returns in January.
The stage is set for a massive peaceful protest in DC, we force Congress to Impeach Bush, or we Mosh. No UFPJ or ANSWER organizers, just a spontaneous gathering, it worked in the Ukraine… we stay as long as it takes, or until the end of January, we’ll have our own State of the Union celebration.
