Andy Rooney calls for Revolution!
Well, he didn’t really say anything about revolution… but he played Ike’s “Military-Industrial Complex” quote and says, “that’s just what’s happened.” !!!
Ike was right about the war machine:
We had a great commander in WWII, Dwight Eisenhower. He became President
and on leaving the White House in 1961, he said this: “We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. …”Well, Ike was right. That’s just what’s happened.
This is huge- unbelieveable that 60 minutes just aired that clip- what a wake-up call to America. What are we going to do about it?

Mr. Rooney,
I agree with you 100% and what they don’t spend on military might they give away to foreign countries. Then they want us to expand to the population size
of India, so our children can live on a trash pile. The American people better wake up. We need to bring our boys home and put them on the border. I don’t think we were put here take care of a world who doesn’t care to take care of themselves.

Mr. Rooney,
While I agree on what you say I would like to point out that Thomas Jefferson, Abe Lincoln and others said the same thing. The big difference is it is more entrenched today with the formulation of Intelligence Bodies. Let’s see what ABE said since it is handy: ‘I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign…..until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war.’ Abraham Lincoln, 1864…I think JFK got in their way is what happened to him. Thank you.
